Why we started
Following in his father’s footsteps, John Shipman started working for an alarm company at the age of 15.

After growing frustrated with the “profit before customer care” by many of the big name firms, he set up Shipman Security Systems in 1983. John has devoted his more than 40 year career to the art of selecting and fitting high quality, reliable security systems - a skill which he has passed onto the rest of his family. His attittude towards client-sintaller relationships has been the firm foundation of the company ever since it started.

Shipman customers range from ordinary flats and houses to factories, shops, offices, public houses, nursing homes, schools and colleges right across the South East. From the simple installation of a burglar alarm for a family house, to the supply, fitting, monitoring and maintenance of a fully integrated security and fire alarm systems to large business complexes.

About the business 
We know that our customers require security for very different reasons and so we design systems that suit individual needs and budgets. We also provide 24/7 monitoring and on call emergency engineers to ensure that you are supported day and night.

Our equipment fittings are always carried out by a member of the CRB checked Shipman team and approved by the SSAIB to meet British Standards guidelines, giving you the assurance that each job is always done carefully and correctly.
